Our Region

Serengale Retreat is central to both historic Beechworth with its cafes, restaurants and shops and the Milawa Gourmet Region with its wineries and local produce.

We are only a 25 minute drive from historic Chiltern and the rural city of Wangaratta and a 50 minute drive to the Rutherglen Wine Region.

  • Beechworth Cellar Doors

Beechworth wines are produced by small artisan vignerons, many of whom are open only by appointment.  To experience some of our regions wines, the cellar doors of Serengale, Amulet and Indigo Vineyards are all within 1 kilometre of Serengale Retreat. You can arrange a private tasting and meet the winemaker at Serengale Vineyard, a wine tasting experience at Indigo or sample wine or Beechworth apple cider at Amulet with lunch available on weekends. In Beechworth visit the cellar doors of Pennyweight and Haldon Estate.

Other wineries are open by appointment. Visit www.beechworthvineyards.com.au for more information.
